Story & Photos

The trip gallery, and story cards built from it that are actually worth posting.

Photos from a trip end up scattered across four phones and a group chat. Story keeps them in one gallery attached to the trip, shows them on the public page, and turns any of them into a story card with the day's real numbers burned in.

A gallery the whole group fills

Anyone on the trip can post, tagged to a day. They appear in the gallery, and on the public page if photos are switched on there β€” so the people following along see the trip as it happens rather than a fortnight later.

You can delete your own; organisers can delete any.

  • Anyone on the trip uploads, not just the organiser.
  • Tagged to a day, so the gallery stays in order.
  • Shown on the live page when you allow it.

Story cards with the real numbers

A photo of a hill is a photo of a hill. A photo of a hill with day 4 of 8, 48 of 88 km, +1160 m and the elevation profile you are standing halfway along is a story about a trip.

Pick a photo, pick the day, choose what to overlay, and download a 1080 Γ— 1920 PNG sized for Instagram and WhatsApp stories. It renders in your browser β€” nothing is uploaded to make a card.

  • Toggle each element β€” trip name, day counter, distance, climbing, elevation profile, follow link.
  • Elevation profile from the day's GPX, with your position marked.
  • Three themes and adjustable photo dimming.
  • Gradient fallback when you have no photo yet.

Good to know

  • Cards are generated from a photo already uploaded to the trip. A photo served without permissive CORS headers cannot be exported β€” use one from your own gallery.
  • The elevation profile only appears for days that have a GPX track.
  • There is no text or sticker editor β€” the overlay is the trip's own data, by design.
